TEK.village was a collaborative art project and pop-up exhibition situated in Teknologiakylä, Oulu's technology village, along Elektroniikkatie and towards the forest. Developed in the context of Oulu2026 European Capital of Culture, the project brought artistic practice into a landscape shaped by technological research, innovation, and everyday working life.

We approached Teknologiakylä as a contemporary non-place: an environment of glass facades, roads, parking areas, green spaces, and technological infrastructures, where human ambitions intersect with the lives of other species and ecological systems.

Through site-specific artworks, participatory practices, sound, performance, and collaboration, TEK.village invited visitors to experience this familiar environment differently. The project explored how art can create space for new encounters, question dominant narratives of technological progress, and open up alternative ways of relating to place, community, and more-than-human life.

The exhibition brought together artists and collaborators working across different media and approaches, including participatory artworks, sound compositions, installations, workshops, and student-led artistic projects.
